The CrossFit workout program delivers a level of fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Their specialty is not "specializing," but rather working all ten of the general physical skills. The CrossFit Program was developed to enhance an individual’s competency at all physical tasks. The all-body training prepares you to perform successfully at multiple, diverse, and varied physical challenges.
It includes varying combinations of weightlifting (olympic lifting), powerlifting, gymnastics, running, rowing, kettlebell training, and plyometrics. The loads, rep schemes, and duration of workouts are also constantly varied. Then every month we have a “Skill-of-the-Month” where we focus on a specific movement or ability. - Flexibility – the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.

- Speed – The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
- Coordination – The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a single distinct movement.
- Agility – The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.
- Balance – The ability to control the placement of the body’s center of gravity in relation to its support base.
- Accuracy – The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.

CrossFit UV Kids is a program designed to take the beauty and function of CrossFit and adapt it to your child’s unique and ever changing needs. The CrossFit Kids (CFK) mission is simple: to help shape your child’s life long definition of health and fitness by pairing working-out and fun so that they will build habits to last a lifetime.
While fun and games are important, helping your child to move better is the goal. Your kids will be introduced to proper techniques in weightlifting as well as everyday functional movements.
CrossFit UV Kids will develop your child’s ten general physical skills: Cardio-respiratory endurance, Power, Strength, Stamina, Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Balance, Accuracy, and Coordination. We combine parts of gymnastics, bodyweight movements, running and weightlifting. Gymnastics will aid your child’s development by involving the vestibular system. Weightlifting will aid bone density development and take advantage of the window of opportunity for peak development in both children and teens. At the same time we will be increasing their strength and self confidence. Nutrition will be discussed and good food choices encouraged, but parental support in this area is KEY!

- $60/month (one or more parents are CFUV members)
- Enrollment: Enrollment in CFUV kid’s program is on a month-to-month basis. Enrollment starts and ends at the month’s beginning and end.
