Mountainland Technical College (MTECH), formally Mountainland Applied Technology College (MATC) prepares students to enter, re-enter, upgrade, or advance in the workplace, which contributes to the economic development, and improves the quality of life for citizens.
MTECH operates under an open door policy and serves all individuals on an equal opportunity basis. All persons who can benefit from technical education, and are 16 years of age (or older,) have the opportunity to enroll in courses, but not necessarily all programs. A high school diploma or GED is not an entrance requirement for all programs but does apply to some.

Mountainland Applied Technology College (MATC) is charged by the State of Utah with providing competency-based vocational and technical training for both high school and adult students, preparing them with necessary skills to enter the workforce.
The Utah College of Applied Technology (UCAT) is the parent organization for Utah’s eight regional applied technology colleges. Established by the State of Utah, UCAT provides market-driven technical education to meet the need of Utah’s employers for skilled workers.
Programs offered by UCAT campuses are approved under rigorous standards established by the Board of Trustees and by the Council on Occupational Education (COE), which accredits each campus.
The UCAT Board of Trustees represents employers, business and industry, trades and apprenticeships, economic development, state government, public and higher education, and career and technical education providers in every region of the state.

MATC-Orem awards certificates of skill competency, proficiency, and completion. In January 2004, MATC began awarding Associate of Applied Technology (AAT) degrees.

MATC-Orem currently offers 12 different programs and areas of study with individual courses where students can get the hands-on-training experience that will give them a distinct advantage in the work force.
