Three Year Degree Program
The UCDH accelerated baccalaureate degree in dental hygiene:
Earn a Bachelor's Degree 3 years
> 12 Months (33 credit hours) of General Education and pre-requisites
> 20 Months (89 credit hours) on-campus dental hygiene program
Required Pre-requisite Courses All pre-requisite courses must be of sufficient depth, scope, sequence of instruction, quality, and emphasis to reflect the objectives of higher education and may be transferred only from an accredited institution at the post-secondary college-level.
Students must enter the program with the following completed college or university coursework:
Minimum CreditsScience Prerequisite Courses 4 Microbiology (with a lab) 3 Chemistry (with or without lab) 8 Anatomy and Physiology I & II with labs (8 credit hours total) or Anatomy & Physiology with labs (4 credit hours each, totaling 8 credit hours)
General Education Prerequisites 3 Human Nutrition 3 English I 3 Oral Communication (Speech) 3 Sociology 3 Psychology 3 Statistics
Please note that UCDH does not offer Associate Degrees. It is only a Bachelor's Degree program.
Utah College of Dental Hygiene - Orem UT
Quality and Consistency The Utah College of Dental Hygiene is the largest dental hygiene college in the state of Utah as well as the only private dental hygiene program in the state.
ACCREDITATION: The program in dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) [and has been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements"].
The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. In addition, the Utah College of Dental Hygiene (UCDH) is a Division of Careers Unlimited L.L.C. and is an Accredited Member College ACCSC (www.accsc.org).
